Mobile Phone Locator

Google the leading search engine of the world, favorite of trillions of people and which serves as the home page of most internet users across the world has reported to be testing a new technology which will help users to locate mobile-phone users’ location even if their handsets do not support GPS!, by using the Google mapping service.

This new feature facilitates users to simply dial a single button on their mobile phones to find out the location of a particular mobile phone. Google reports this to be a more convenient method for enabling users to search mobile locations that usually rely on Google maps for the same by using a single key instead of having to type the beginning address on the mobile handset, which can be time consuming especially considering the small keys on a mobile phone.

This technology named aptly as “My Location” simply involves pressing the zero button on the handset which has this new software installed and it will then immediately take the user to the mobile’s location depicted by a blue dot in Google maps.

Google reports that this software is not designed to collect any personal information such as the mobile owners’ phone number that would disclose the users’ identity. And the software also allows disabling the feature when not required, by the means of a single click in its help menu.
